The Edwards

When Anna and Greyson find themselves empty nesters, they quickly realize their marriage is hanging by a thread. One explosive night forces them to confront the truth—they need help. Enter their bold and unconventional therapist, who prescribes an unexpected remedy: rediscovering each other between the sheets. But rekindling passion is just the beginning. With two decades of history between them, can a little heat reignite the love they’ve lost, or will they uncover problems no amount of intimacy can fix?

How did it start?

The Edwards came to me after having dinner with some of my friends, we were talking about the infamous kink test and our results, and everything friends talk about. On my way home, I had an idea - it is actually one of the last scenes in the book- of the MMC gifting the FMC a pearl necklace, and how she would show her appreciation. And that was it, the book took off from there and became what it is today!

Did you face any challenges?

Yes! Though I finished it in about a month, it was my first book. I knew I would have to publish independently; I just wasn't prepared for everything that came with that. It was a lot, thankfully, I had an amazing mentor who took the time to answer all of my questions and point me in the right direction. Not only did she help me find myself as a writer, but she also helped with edits, proofreading, the original covers, and encouragement when I was doubting myself. I owe her so much. Thanks for all she did for me when I was starting.

What did you learn during this process?

I learned a lot, actually. I learned I can't multitask; all my focus and energy goes into one thing at a time. I originally thought this would be another thing that I hyper-focused on and then lost interest - but didn't happen- I found my passion. I learned who I am as an author, my writing style, and that I honestly excel in the spice parts. I also learned that there is so much more to being an author than just writing a book. I have to have it edited, then proofread, then run through beta and ARC readers, all before publishing; that doesn't include the cover and formatting of the book. There is so much that goes on and personal deadlines that I was forced to work on my procrastination- though it doesn't always work- I have improved and found things to help. All in all, I wouldn't change this journey for anything.
